Licensing information

Wellington City Financial Services Limited (FSP100444) trading as AMP City Financial Services holds a transitional Financial Advice Provider (FAP) licence issued by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) to provide financial advice.

The following authorised bodies trade as AMP City Financial Services and provide financial advice under our FAP licence:

AMP City Financial Services provides advice relating to the following financial products:

  • Contents insurance

  • Motor vehicle and boat insurance

Fees or expenses

We do not charge clients fees, expenses or any other amount for the financial advice we provide. You will not be invoiced or asked to pay any fees to us at any time.

 

Conflicts of interest and incentives

AMP City Financial Services receives a commission from the providers on whose products we give financial advice on. These commissions are comprised of initial commission and ongoing commission.

We are eligible for this commission upon implementation of insurance.

We have a preferred partner relationship with AMP in relation to general insurance and can also provide advice on other general insurance products.

We have arrangements with a range of other insurance providers in relation to life and health insurance. AMP City Financial Services and anyone providing financial advice on its behalf have the duty to prioritise our client’s interests above our own interests. To ensure this, AMP City Financial Services and undertakes the following to manage conflicts of interest:

  • We value transparency and make our clients aware of the commissions and referral fees we are eligible to receive should they accept and implement our advice and recommendations.

  • All of our financial advisers and staff are required to undergo annual training about managing conflicts of interest.

  • We undertake an annual internal review of our compliance programme as well as an external compliance assurance review from a reputable external provider.

From time to time, AMP City Financial Services may receive certain non-monetary benefits from product providers. This could include gratuities such as a bottle of wine at Christmas time, a free calendar, pen or book, the occasional luncheon, drinks after a briefing session, invitations to sporting events, subsidised professional development, discounted training courses or office supplies, etc.

If we cannot agree on how to fix the issue, or if you decide not to use the internal complaints scheme, you can contact our external disputes resolution scheme, Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme (IFSO). This service will cost you nothing, and will help us resolve any disagreements.

Duties information

AMP City Financial Services and anyone who provides financial advice on its behalf are bound by duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013.

Some of these duties are:

  • Ensure that we prioritise our client’s interests

  • Exercise care, diligence, and skill in providing when providing our clients with advice

  • Meet the standards of ethical behaviour, conduct, and client care set by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services.

  • Meet the standards of competence, knowledge and skill set by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services.
