We have been insured with AMP for over 25 years and nearly 23 of them with John. Approx 4 years ago (post Christchurch earthquake), John sent us a letter recommending we increase the indemnity period for our loss of rents for our commercial property.
He explained that the feedback he had received regarding claims due to the earthquakes in Christchurch was the time it took to assess claims and to actually get them processed and sorted. Because of this he suggested that we increase the indemnity period from 12 months to 24, which we did.
Nine months later we had a substantial claim. On the face of it, we expected a six month turnaround, it took 19 months. John’s recommendation saved us tens of thousands of dollars.
